Cloud City

That's the name of the sculpture on the roof of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  It creates reflections upon reflections, a new treat from every angle.  Can you find us in it?

Backyard Battleship

That Battleship set is 40+ years old.  On the cover of the box, Dad and son play Battleship while Mom and daughter look on, from the kitchen, where they are washing dishes.

Potted Potter

Last night Isabella's birthday celebration continued, and we went to the Harry Potter parody show Potted Potter, which, yes, did somehow include a live Quidditch match.  Isabella said it was hilarious; Jonathan said it was "It was the funniest thing I've ever seen."

Pink Pooch on 9th Avenue

Otherwise known as a cellphone camera magnet.  Jonathan says: "The only thing that would make this cuter is if the white puppy was wearing a red sweater."

My Compliments to the Chefs

Isabella and Jonathan picked a recipe - chicken and broccoli in a peanut sauce - and made it for dinner.  And it was DELICIOUS.

POTTER PUPPET PALS!!!

We also went to the Potter Puppet Pals show in Brooklyn, at the Knitting Factory. It was really fun!  If you don't know who they are, Google them right now.  Also, since we were in Williamsburg, we went to hipster-approved bbq and dessert places for dinner, very yummy.

Spiders ALIVE!

Last week we saw the Museum of Natural History's spider exhibit. There were live tarantulas and a big scorpion too.

I Graduated!

At the end of June I graduated from P.S.87!  It was VERY exciting, even though there was still a couple days of school left.

Cool Art

After viewing the Mars exhibit, we saw this sculpture. It's amazing - from across the street, it looks exactly like three 3-dimensional blocks floating in the air, but when you walk up to it, you realize it's flat.  Very cool.

Going to the Armory

This summer, we went to the Armory, and saw an exhibition that was a somewhat surreal version of training to go to Mars.

HUGE MOON

Believe it or not, this giant glowing disc is the MOON! This was taken near the UN in April.

Our trip to MoMa

Near the end of spring break, we went to MoMa, and saw the Cindy Sherman exhibit. She was an amazing photographer who took pictures of herself and managed to look different each time.

Our Trip to Jackson Heights

Also during spring break, we went to Jackson Heights in Queens. We went shopping in some of the stores, and also ate at some restaurants, including a buffet. We bought some Indian candies that were delicious, and bought other goods as well. We also saw a Bollywood movie, "Housefull 2."  It was funny and goofy with romance, switched identities, fight scenes, and of course singing and dancing.

Our Trip to the Guggenheim

During spring break, we went to the Guggenheim. They had this piece of art that was like a giant couch that we sat on!

Onslaught of Updates!

We've got, oh, about five months of adventures to catch you up on.  We will start with an old photo, of a corn flavored candy we found in Chinatown.

Astronomy Night

This is the moon seen from the rooftop observatory of Columbia's astronomy department.  We saw a cool lecture and 3D slideshow Friday night, and enjoyed visiting the observatory even if it was too cloudy for stargazing.
