More Roosevelt Island

It was a perfect day for the trip to the island, which is also home to the only ruins with NYC Landmark status, and probably the best view of the Pepsi sign in the city.  They also had free music, free transportation around the island, and an adorable little ice cream shop, Main Street Sweets.

Once we got to the island, we headed to the beautiful FDR Memorial Park . . .

 

Roosevelt Island!

Yesterday we went to an exhibition at the Grolier Club of original documents and posters from WWII. I pointed out the Norman Rockwell posters on the Four Freedoms. Then we just kept heading east until we were at the Roosevelt Island tram . . .
